Today’s Daily Dose focuses on heart issues that quietly damage relationships: envy, boasting, and pride. These sins don’t always look “evil,” but they make love impossible. As you read, ask God to remove self from the throne.

Scripture
1 Corinthians 13:4
“…charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,”

Devotional
Envy is pain at someone else’s blessing. Boasting is the need to be seen. Pride is the desire to elevate self. These may hide behind spiritual language, but love exposes them.

Pride isn’t always loud—it’s often defensive. It refuses correction. It explains instead of repenting. It blames instead of owning. Pride says, “You’re too sensitive,” “That’s just how I am,” or “It’s not my fault.”

But love is not puffed up. Love isn’t impressed with self. Love doesn’t compete in God’s house. Love celebrates others, honors others, and stays humble enough to repent quickly.

Reflection
Where have I compared, competed, or craved recognition?
How can I practice humility today in a real, practical way?

Today’s Prayer
Jesus, crucify pride in me. Teach me to celebrate others, stay humble, and love without needing attention.

Pride divides, but humility heals. Today, choose a humble moment—apologize, celebrate someone else, or receive correction with grace. Tomorrow, we’ll deal with a major love test that destroys unity: offense, assumptions, and keeping records of wrongs.
