Today’s Daily Dose closes the week with a defining truth: love isn’t optional for believers—it’s the evidence that Jesus is truly Lord in our lives. As you read, reflect on what God has been correcting, healing, and rebuilding in your heart this week.
Scripture
1 Corinthians 13:8
“Charity never faileth…”
Devotional
This week, we were reminded that love is not a romantic idea—it is a repentance standard. Love is the fruit of Jesus ruling your heart. And the world is watching. They may not measure your theology, but they will measure your love.
We learned that love is not defined by feelings, attraction, tolerance, or agreement. Love is defined by Jesus, and the cross is the clearest definition of love ever given. Love is proven by sacrifice.
We saw that love is a mirror. It exposes the hidden, “respectable” sins that damage families and churches: impatience, harshness, envy, pride, jealousy, boasting, offense, and unforgiveness. We were reminded that gifts don’t prove maturity—fruit does. And love is the evidence of spiritual maturity.
We learned that love is patient and kind in real life, not just in public. That pride must be crucified, not protected. That envy and boasting are self on the throne. That offense often grows from assumptions, and assumptions become seeds of division. And we faced the truth that love doesn’t keep a record of wrongs—because forgiveness cancels the debt.
Love protects. Love honors. Love tells the truth without crushing people. Love believes God can change people. Love perseveres. Love does not quit when it gets hard. And that’s why Paul says, “Charity never faileth.” Everything else fades—platforms, gifts, titles, attention—but love is eternal.
Reflection
What did God confront in my heart this week?
Where do I need to make something right—apologize, forgive, reconcile, or speak with kindness?
What would it look like for love to rule my life in a deeper way next week?
Today’s Prayer
Jesus, forgive me for where I have failed the love test. Heal what is broken in me, and make me more like You. Teach me to love with patience, humility, truth, and grace. Let love rule my words, my reactions, and my relationships.
As you step into a new week, remember this: love is not weakness—it is power under control. Love is not compromise—it is Christlikeness. And love is not optional—it is the witness of the church. God isn’t correcting you to condemn you; He’s correcting you to transform you. Choose love again today, and let Jesus be seen in the way you treat people.
