Today’s Daily Dose addresses a truth many believers discover the hard way: obedience to God does not always make life easier. In Scripture, faithfulness often invites resistance rather than relief. As you read, reflect on how choosing God’s way may be shaping the pressure you are currently facing.

Scripture
Daniel 3:8
“8 At this time some astrologers came forward and denounced the Jews.”

Devotional
We often expect obedience to bring ease, but Scripture shows us that obedience can bring opposition. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego obeyed God and were immediately accused. The fire got hotter not because they failed, but because they were faithful.

Many believers experience this. You choose integrity at work and face resistance. You set godly boundaries in relationships and experience tension. You choose God’s way instead of the easy way, and life suddenly feels heavier.

Do not confuse hardship with disobedience. Sometimes the fire gets hotter because you are standing firm.

Reflection
Where has obedience made life harder for me recently?
Is it in my workplace, relationships, finances, or a decision where I chose God’s way over the easy way?

Today’s Prayer
Lord, help me trust You when obedience costs me comfort. Strengthen me to remain faithful when the heat rises.

Pause and remember this: obedience is never wasted. God sees every faithful choice you make, even when it costs you comfort. Stay faithful where you are, and choose obedience again today. Tomorrow, we’ll look at how opposition often follows obedience—and why resistance does not always mean failure.
